Your photos and results
Photos you submit for analysis are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing and are stored securely in our private storage, together with your analysis results and the calibration answers you give. We keep them for two reasons: so your palette and results can live on your profile and follow you across devices, and so we can review analyses and improve the AI that powers Colorito. A copy of your latest result is also kept in your own browser's local storage.
Instagram scans
If you ask us to scan an Instagram profile, we fetch that profile's public information and public photos, store them with your scan results, and analyze them to read your coloring and style. Only scan a profile that is yours or that you have the right to share. Private profiles cannot be scanned. Instagram is not affiliated with Colorito and we never receive your Instagram password.
Lookbook photos and renders
If you use Lookbook, the full-length photos you upload or capture, together with the photos already on your account that you choose to include, are stored in our private storage and sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to check that they are usable and to render clothing onto them. The renders are stored the same way and shown only to you. Lookbook photos and renders are kept for as long as your account exists. Removing a photo from your lookbook profile takes it out of your lookbook and, within a day, deletes the renders made from it along with the file itself if you uploaded or captured it; photos already on your account from your analysis or an Instagram scan stay with your account under the retention above. Everything goes when you ask us to delete it, or when you delete your account. We use them to render your looks and, as with your analysis photos, to review and improve the AI that powers Colorito. They are never sold, never used for advertising, and never shown publicly without your separate written permission.
How we use what we store
Stored photos, scans, and results are used to provide the product, to debug and replay analyses, and to evaluate and improve Colorito's AI analysis. They are never sold, never used for advertising, and never shown publicly. Activity from before you create an account is connected to your account when you sign in, so your history stays yours.
Your account and email
An account stores your email, your season, and your saved results. If you join the waitlist we store your email address and, if you took the quiz, your season — so invites can be relevant. We don't sell or share your email, and every message we send has one-click removal. If you buy something, payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.
Analytics
We measure aggregate page and quiz usage to improve the product, using Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics. Vercel Analytics is cookieless and does not identify individual visitors. We also record which ad or search term first brought you here, so we know what's working.
Deletion and contact
You can ask us to delete your photos, scans, results, and account at any time, and we will — completely. Questions or deletion requests: email support@colorito.ai, or reply to any Colorito email. Send it from the address on your account so we can find your data. Every message is read.
